Film and television actor Bob Hoskins, who starred latterly in Made in Dagenham, has died at the age of 71.
The actor, who was best known for roles in The Long Good Friday and Who Framed Roger Rabbit has died of pneumonia, surrounded by his family in hospital on Tuesday (April 29), his agent said today.
Mr Hoskins was nominated for an Oscar for best actor in crime film Mona Lisa in 1987. He starred alongside Sir Michael Caine and Robbie Coltrane.
In a statement, Mr Hoskins' family said: "We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Bob."
"Bob died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family, following a bout of pneumonia.
"We ask that you respect our privacy during this time and thank you for your messages of love and support."
