Heybridge Swifts manager Jody Brown hailed the club's supporters after the play-off defeat to Harlow Town.
Swifts were well beaten by the Hawks, going down 3-0 at Scraley Road.
But despite the score, the home fans chanted "Jody Brown's Barmy Army" almost non-stop for the last half an hour of the game, and Brown is happy with how they stuck with his team, even as their promotion hopes were ending.
"I appreciate them and I'm happy that they appreciate me," Brown said. "I came here because it's a club which I believe has huge potential, and to have that potential you need to have support.
"We have got good support and I think that will grow if we keep playing the sort of football we had been before today.
"The players are really grateful to them and it was unbelievable the way they sang non-stop for the last half-hour.
"I thank them for their support up till now."
