The Queen visits Chelmsford: Road closures and Park and Ride changes

A number of roads will be closed in and around Chelmsford city centre to coincide with the royal visit on May 6. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will visit Chelmsford Cathedral to mark the centenary of Chelmsford Diocese before heading to Felsted School in Dunmow. Chelmsford City Council has confirmed the occasion will cause some localised, temporary disruption in the city centre from 6am to 1pm.The following roads will be affected

• Waterloo Lane
• Duke Street
• Tindal Square
• New Street

And there will also be some changes to Park and Ride from 6am to 1pmChelmer Valley and Sandon Park and Ride services will be unable to serve the stops in Duke Street and New London Road. Alternative stops will be located at Victoria Road South and Parkway. During this time the Chelmer Valley Park and Ride will serve stops on Parkway
