HUNDREDS of Essex residents scared themselves silly at the weekend at the county's most spook-tacular Hallowe'en event.
Braintree's usually peaceful Cressing Temple Barns was transformed into a haunted house full or terror and torment as the fourth annual Cursed event kicked off.
And with lost souls hiding around every corner and an escaped asylum patient running wild in the grounds the event is not for the fainthearted.
More than 1,000 thrill-seekers are expected to pass through the event's doors which finished last night.
And as each brave visitor is led, with their hands on the shoulders of the person in front of them, through a series of devilish mazes the corridors are filled with the unsuspecting public's screams.
Weaving through the dark, guests take in the sights and smells of a haunted asylum, graveyard, mortuary and a circus, before being released back into the safety of the real world.
