Essex are set to go into the loan market for fast bowlers after being left with just one fit seamer ahead of Sunday's game with Leicestershire.
David Masters (quad) and Graham Napier (groin) both suffered injuries during the final day of the draw at Gloucestershire.
They are both doubtful for the clash at Chelmsford, and with Reece Topley, Saj Mahmood and Matt Salisbury already on the treatment table, Tymal Mills is the only quickie at Paul Grayson's disposal.
And that means he will have to go into the loan market ahead of the game where Essex will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
"Both David Masters and Graham Napier could be doubtful for Sunday's game against Leicestershire," he said.
"The busiest man at the club is our Physio and we will certainly be looking at the loan market with a view to bringing in players for Sunday's game.
"Hopefully, we'll get a player or two in over the weekend, which should get us through the next two or three weeks."
