POLICE are growing increasingly concerned for the welfare of a 13-year-old girl.
Kathryn Goodchild was last seen at her home in Luther Drive, Tiptree at about 5.45pm on Tuesday, May 6.
Extensive enquiries have been carried out since her parents raised the alarm at about 10.30pm when she failed to return home, but there has been no trace of Kathryn.
She is believed to have no money and has not been contactable on her mobile telephone.
Chief Inspector Alan Cook, who is leading the search, said: "We are extremely concerned for Kathryn's welfare as she has never been missing before.
"To be away from home for so long is completely out of character.
"We want to hear from anyone who has seen Kathryn since about 6pm last night or from anyone who has information about her whereabouts.
"If Kathryn does hear or see this appeal we would urge her to contact her parents or police officers to let us know that she is safe."
She is about 5ft 7in tall, of slim build and has light brown hair tied back.
When last seen, she was wearing a black hooded top.
Anyone who has seen her should contact officers at Colchester on 101.
