Police investigating the murder of 24-year-old Michael Haastrup in Braintree need to find a man who contacted them anonymously in the evening of April 16 from a phone box in the town.
The man phoned, without giving his name or details, from the phone box in Mountbatten Road, near to the Co-op store and Swiss Bell Public house. He provided police with information which could be linked to the investigation.
DCI Mark Hall, senior investigating officer, said: "We need this man to contact us urgently as he may hold vital information. We can assure him that his phone call will be treated in the strictest confidence."
Mr Haastrup, 24, of Southend, died in hospital after the incident, which happened at a property in Cressing Road at around 11pm on April 16.
Luke Eva, aged 24, from Leigh-on-Sea has been charged with the murder of Michael Haastrup and is remanded prior to a trial hearing. A plea and case management hearing is scheduled for June 23.
