The showers that have spread across the country over the last few days will make way for bright sunshine and warm temperatures by Friday.
Chelmsford will see temperatures hitting a peak of 21C on Saturday - the best day over the next weekend, according to the latest Met Office forecast.
But it won't last, with conditions set to slip back to more average levels by early next week.
Monday will return to temperatures of 12C.
