A schoolgirl was hit and injured by a van which failed to stop in Little Baddow.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the girl, who is aged 14 and from Hockley, was struck on the back of the head by the wing mirror of a white dropside van in Church Street at about 10.30am on Sunday (May 11).
The girl, who was among a group of pupils taking part in a school activity weekend, was knocked to the ground in the incident, which happened at the junction of Colam Street.
She was taken to Broomfield Hospital and was treated for a cut to her head. She was allowed home later that day.
The van, which was carrying tools and logs on the back, failed to stop and was last seen turning into Holybread Lane.
Police want to hear from any witnesses - especially the driver of a small black car travelling behind the van – or anyone with information about the vehicle.
Anyone who can help should contact the investigating officer PC Andy Sumner of Chelmsford Road Policing Office on 101 or email him at 2795@essex.pnn.police.uk
