An inquest has been opened into the death of a man who was hit by a train at Witham railway station last month.
Emergency services were called to the station on April 24 following reports that a man had been struck.
The victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was later named as 65-year-old Brian Smart, of Church Lane in Springfield, Chelmsford.
An inquest was opened and adjourned into Mr Smart's death at Essex Coroners' Court in Chelmsford's Victoria Road South earlier this month.
