A woman has received head and chest injuries after her car crashed into a pond on the Lower Burnham Road in Latchingdon.
Police are still at the scene of the crash, which happened shortly before 4pm.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "The driver of a car appears to have lost control whilst travelling along and ended up in a pond.
"A section of road has been closed."
The East of England Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, an ambulance officer, a rapid response vehicle, and the hazardous area response team were sent to the scene at 3.56pm.
A spokeswoman said: "The woman, who is believed to be in her 50s, was taken to Basildon Hospital by land ambulance.
"Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening."
