A man accused of raping a woman last August has charged with the offence.
Alin Calinciuc, 23, of Chelmsford, is accused of raping the 45-year-old from Harlow in the Moulsham Street area of the town in the early hours of Monday, August 5, 2013.
Later that week, a 23-year-old man from the town was arrested on suspicion of rape and was then released on police pending further enquiries.
The gardener was charged on Friday and was bailed until his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, June 11.
