A FIVE vehicle accident has blocked the Londonbound A12 between Howe Green and Galleywood.
The collision happened at around 7.30am between junction 17 and junction 16 with the A130.
Traffic is backed up to the Boreham Interchange and t he carriageway remains blocked.
Emergency services including paramedics, fire service and police are at the scene.
There is slow moving traffic on the A12 Londonbound after a broken down van has partially blocked the inside lane on the Chelmsford bypass between junction 16 at Galleywood and junction 15 at Three Mile Hill.
On the A131, Braintree Road southound, there is slow moving traffic between Great Leighs and Essex Regiment Way.
And on the A120 in Braintree traffic southbound between Marks Farm Roundabout and Galley's Roundabout is delayed.
In Chelmsford, on the A1016 Westway is slow between Robjohns Road and Writtle Road.
And in Brentwood there is slow traffic on the A1023, Shenfield Road towards the High Street at Wilsons Corner
Traffic on A127 Southend Arterial Road Londonbound in Rayleigh between Rayleigh Weir and A130 is also slow, but the Southend Arterial Road Londonbound between Halfway House and Romford is now clear.
Queuing traffic on M25 clockwise at A282, Dartford Bridge, is creating congestion on the A13 Londonbound which is building from the Stifford Interchange to before junction 30 at Lakeside.
Very slow traffic on M25 anticlockwise around junction 27 with the M11 and it is busy but slow on the M11 southbound between junction 5 with the A1168 at Loughton and junction 4 with the A406 at Woodford.
On the trains there seems to less chaos so than the last two mornings with the only delay being a 12 minute one on the Norwich to Liverpool Street service at Diss.
