A father-of four snapped talking to a female Brazilian football fan during England's World Cup opener against Italy has denied flirting with her
The snap of Carl Wenz was posted on Twitter by spoof account BBC Sporf with the caption: "LAD: An England fan asks for this Brazilian fan's phone number mid-match." It was re-tweeted thousands of times.

But the dad-of-four, whose partner lives in Chelmsford, told the Harlow Star the girl simply asked to have a picture taken with him.
Carl said: "I've been watching England since 1980 and England away since 1997. I've been to five World Cups and four European Championships. I've watched England play on five continents.
"Many people in many places around the world have asked to have their picture taken with me, and I have always obliged. I'm an extremely curious person and even more so in a foreign country.
"The girl in the photo asked if she could have a picture taken with me, to which I said yes.
"Her brother took the photo and I'm seen looking at it on her phone."
