A shocked Old Moulsham householder captures the moment a shed bursts into flames.
The blaze broke out in Braemar Avenue shortly after 8.10pm yesterday (July 2) and was extinguished within 45 minutes.
However, the force of the fire sent thick, black, acrid smoke billowing into the sky - sparking calls from several surrounding neighbours.
Witness Francesco Cappelluti, of Braemar Avenue, has been told the fire is suspected of being caused by an electrical failure.
"All of the shed was on fire and apparently it was a power failure inside," said the 33-year-old Italian expat.
"Luckily the fire brigade arrived quick and only the shed and a couple of trees were on fire so it didn't extend to the rest of the garden.
"The owners have broken everything down so the shed is not there anymore.
"We thought someone could be inside so we went inside and through the house because it was open.
"Apparently the people were not really aware of this and were upstairs resting."
An Essex Fire and Rescue service spokesman said no one was injured.
The service has already recorded the cause of the fire as being accidental.
