Police investigating a collision close to Hylands Park in Chelmsford which left a woman seriously injured want to speak to the driver of a car seen swerving out of the way.
The 57-year-old pedestrian was walking down the central reservation along the London-bound A414 Three Mile Hill at 11.20am yesterday (July 6) when she was struck by a VW Polo.
She was given immediate emergency aid by an off duty medic from Plymouth before being taken to Queens Hospital in Romford by ambulance.
She suffered head injuries and is currently in a stable condition.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old from Beconsfield in Buckinghamshire, has not been arrested
Witnesses said that a white car was seen to swerve out of the way before the collision and police have appealed for him to come forward.
