Motorists heading back through Essex during the afternoon rush-hour will be relieved to know the road closures will be lifted following the departure of the Tour de France.
Routes in Chelmsford, Braintree, Uttlesford and Epping Forest were sealed off to drivers to allow riders and sponsorship vehicles to race through the county during Stage 3.
The barriers have been taken down and the roads should be open as normal from 5pm
The Highways Agency has advised the two closures in place on the M11 at junction 9a northbound and the A11 Stumps Cross southbound, both exit slip roads, have been lifted.
