Former West Ham defender Robert Girdlestone has agreed to join Chelmsford City.
The Hammers released the 18-year-old this summer, but has signed on with the Clarets to play at Melbourne Stadium this season.
Girdlestone can play at centre-back or full-back and will be useful addition to Mark Hawkes' squad.
Hawkes said: "Rob has been at West Ham since he was nine years old so he has obviously been very well coached. He is going to be a good footballer and taught the right way.
"We'll have to see if he can adapt to the physical side of non-league football. But he will get used to that at pre-season training and working with the lads."
