There are long delays on the roads in Chelmsford this evening following a three-vehicle crash in Chelmer Road.
The vehicles, including a white Transit van and a Seat, collided in the centre of Chelmer Road between the roundabout beside Chelmer Village Retail Park and the Army & Navy roundabout at about 5pm today.
Essex Police neighbourhood sergeant Paul Austin said one male was taken to Broomfield Hospital as a precautionary measure.
One lane in Chelmer Road was closed for about an hour but was reopened shortly before 6.19pm.
Queues now line main access roads in and surrounding the city centre.
Commuter Dan Wilson wrote on Twitter: "Centre of #Chelmsford absolutely gridlocked. 200 yds in 40mins. New St, Duke St et al."
