A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for the South-East following overnight storms and heavy rainfall in Essex.
A yellow warning for high levels of rainfall is in place tomorrow from the MET office with the likelihood of further heavy, thundery showers developing over the region this evening (Friday).
These weather systems are likely to lead to torrential downpours with frequent lightning, hailstones and strong gusts of wind.
The MET office have said: "Significant flooding is possible where these do occur from surface water as well as from small, fast responding watercourses.
"The frequent lightning, large hail and strong gusts could also be an additional hazard. The public should be aware of the risk of disruption from any of these elements."
It follows significant storms across Essex overnight with heavy rainfall and lightning continuing to cause problems across the county.
