A TEENAGER was reported for careless driving after a serious collision with a police car in the Stebbing Green.
The marked Ford police car and black VW Polo crashed at the junction of Collops Road with Porters Hall Road at 2.30pm on July 7, the afternoon the Tour de France passed through nearby Rayne and Felsted.
The 17-year-old driver of the Polo left the road and was trapped in the vehicle, but was freed by fire crews by 3.30pm.
A passenger of the Polo, also 17, was taken to Broomfield Hospital with a suspected fractured wrist and the police driver was also taken to hospital but was not seriously injured.
An Essex Police spokesman said: "The driver will be offered the opportunity to take a course to improve his driving. If he accepts this then there will be no further action."
