Three Old Deanery care home workers arrested in connection with alleged abuse have been charged with assault and harassment.
The allegations came to light after a BBC Panorama team broadcast footage of employees at the home appearing to slap and verbally abuse residents.
After an Essex Police investigation, Lorna Hortilano, 44, of Hammond Place, Braintree, was reported for two offences under the Protection of Harassment Act and one offence under the Mental Capacity Act.
Adeshola Adediwura, 32, of Clockhouse Way, Braintree, has been reported for one offence of assault, one offence under the Protection of Harassment Act and one under the Mental Capacity Act.
Anita Ray, 45, of Victoria Street, Braintree, has been reported for one offence of assault, two offences under the Protection of Harassment Act and one offence under the Mental Capacity Act.
They have all been ordered to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (August 26).
A fourth woman was who was also arrested was told that due to insufficient evidence no further action against her is currently planned.
