HEYBRIDGE Swifts manager Keith Wilson described Scraley Road as having the 'buzz back' following a decent pre-season campaign so far.
Tuesday night's 0-0 draw with Chelmsford City was the Swifts' third against higher opposition this week, after coming back from two goals down against Canvey Island and Witham Town.
Wilson took over from Jody Brown just over three weeks ago, and is 100 per cent sure that he made the right move from Burnham Ramblers.
He said: "The great thing is as the players were coming off the pitch there was a lot of positivity from the crowd.
"And Ricky Clarke (coach), who has been here a long time, said to me that the buzz is back, which is what I wanted to achieve when I took over.
"I wanted to get a positive attitude around the place and three good results in the last week has certainly done that.
"I am loving it here. I know that I have made the right move, even though I enjoyed my time at Burnham.
"But I want to be competing with the Chelmsfords, Canvey Islands and Withams on a weekly basis, which I think I can do here.
"The club has been exceptional to me, making me feel so welcome and the players have bought into what I want to do.
"Lee [Boylan, coach] and Ricky have been fantastic and we work really well as a three.
"My aim is the first game of the season and I want to go to Soham Town Rangers and get the three points on August 9."
Wilson's men got a deserved draw against the Clarets on Tuesday, with keeper Danny Sambridge making several decent stops to keep the Swifts in it.
Wilson added: "I thought we were excellent. We worked extremely hard and our shape was spot on throughout.
"They are a good side and are going to create chances. Danny has pulled off a great point blank save and deserved a clean sheet.
"But our fitness showed as we kept going and that is testament to the boys, Lee and Ricky who got their fitness up before I arrived as well.
"We set up to try and prevent them getting the ball early to Callander and Cheek and we managed to do that well.
"We stopped giving the ball away cheaply in the second half and it was a great workout for the lads.
"It's now four games unbeaten and another building block to add ahead of the start of the season."
