The Essex seaside destination has been included on a list of the top 20 most expensive UK resorts based on the average cost for an overnight stay coming in at number 17.
It costs an average of £71 for a stay in a double room in the town during the peak season, the same cost as staying in Brighton, a popular choice for Londoners.
Those wishing to stay in the most expensive resort of St Ives in Cornwall will be set back an additional £50 per night with an average price tag of £123.
