BURNHAM Ramblers boss Lee Elliston has resigned after just two weeks in charge. Elliston took over after Keith Wilson left the club to take over at fellow Ryman League Division One North side, Heybridge Swifts. The 32-year-old had stepped down from his job at Woodbridge Town to return to the club six months after leaving his role as first team coach at Ramblers. It leaves Ramblers managerless with just over a week to go until their first game of the season at Romford on Saturday August 9. A statement on the club's website read: "It is with deep regret that we have to announce Lee Elliston has resigned as first team manager with immediate effect. "Lee who took up the position only two weeks ago felt he owed it to the players, club and supporters to resign as he has new opportunity at work which will mean he will not be able to dedicate the time needed to manage the first team at Burnham Ramblers. "The club is now looking to appoint a new first team manager and hope to make an announcement in the next few days. "Everyone at the club wishes Lee and his family well for the future and thank him for his honesty. "Applications and CVs for the position of first team manager should be sent to the club secretary Shaun Pugh secretarybrfc@sapugh.gotadsl.co.uk in the first instance."
