A man arrested after shots from a suspected air weapon were seen to be fired at police officers in Colchester was detained under the Mental Health Act.
The 43-year-old, from Colchester, was arrested at the scene by officers using tasers and baton rounds after the incident, seen by dozens in Dugard Avenue from 6.30pm on Wednesday (July 30).
The air weapon was later recovered at the scene.
An Essex Police spokesman said the man has since been released on bail until September pending further enquiries.
