BURNHAM Ramblers boss Bertie Brayley has said he is not worried by being 'thrown in at the deep end'. The 32-year-old was appointed as the new Ramblers boss just a week before the start of the new Ryman One North season, after the shock departure of Lee Elliston last Thursday. But the experienced Brayley believes that his team will be ready before their opening game on Saturday (August 9) at Romford. "I have be thrown in at the deep end but I am not too worried about that. I have a little bit of time to look at players but have had to act quickly. We might have to add some more players but I am not sure at the moment. I need to get to know them first but I will do that very quickly. There is definitely talent and ability there. Brayley has signed on as player-manager at the club, but insisted that he will be sorting out his squad first before thinking of playing. He added: "My legs are fine to play, but I haven't done much of a pre-season. However, I keep myself ticking over outside of football to stay fit. "But my priority is to get my strongest team out before I start playing and then join in where needed. As it stands now I am just trying to assemble the strongest team that I think will go out and perform against Romford on Saturday."
