SUNDAY saw Burnham-on-Crouch Rugby Club women's team play in their first home Touch Rugby triangular against Chelmsford Ladies and South Woodham Ferrers Ladies.
Despite the weather there was amazing support from the home spectators and all the ladies played some fantastic rugby.
The first match was between Burnham-on-Crouch and Chelmsford.
Burnham made a fantastic start being first on the score sheet with a fantastic slide to the try line from Becky Diss.
Chelmsford returned with two tries before half-time. In the second half Burnham's defence was really put to the test by a strong attacking Chelmsford with the final score a 5-1 defeat.
The second match of the day was between Chelmsford and South Woodham Ferrers with some great attacking and defence work. The final score was Chelmsford 3-1 South Woodham Ferrers.
The final game was between Burnham and South Woodham Ferrers.
With the legs tiring and the rain getting heavier captain for the day, Becky Hart, lifted the team's spirts with a great try early in the game.
Burnham continued to score with tries from Laura W and Kelly O'Neil.
The final score was Burnham 3-1 South Woodham Ferrers.
The Ladies TAG/ Touch Rugby team trains at Millfields, Burnham-on-Crouch on Tuesday 6.45pm to 8pm.
