THE game started in a balanced fashion and neither side looked better than the other.
It was the University who looked the more likely to score in the opening few minutes but nothing came from the chances that they made.
Phoenix also created opportunities but just couldn't find the killer pass in the final third. Eventually Phoenix managed to put themselves one up after a free-hit was taken quickly by Andy Luxton, who passed it on to Tom Short who slotted it past the keeper.
The University came back hard on the Phoenix defence and looked likely to score until one of their players was red carded.
Phoenix from then on looked the better team and Tom Short scored his second of the game from a short corner.
After the break Phoenix continued to play some good passing hockey and scored for the third time to put the game beyond doubt, this time the ball fell to Ash Green who finished the move off.
With only a few minutes left Phoenix scored a fourth thanks to Ben Bruce-Smith who slotted in from close range.
