Pre-school children at Kiddi Caru's day nursery in Colchester will be given a master class in caring when they receive a visit from 2 nurses from Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow last Thursday.
Staff at the day nursery had noticed recently that the children had been showing lots of concern for each other if they hurt themselves. They like to help with caring for each other and trying out applying cold compresses to each other and the staff. Therefore the staff thought the children would be interested in hearing about how the nurses look after children in the hospital and even learning how to treat each other with bandages.
Jennie Gregory, Nursery Manager, said: "The children have a natural concern for their friends in the nursery if they hurt themselves and this had led us to explore the subject of looking after each other within the pre-school classes. They're very excited about meeting some real nurses and can't wait to try out their bandaging skills on each other."
