TWO cars collided and then hit a house in Chelmsford last night, after a driver became unwell at the wheel, leaving one man trapped in his vehicle.
The accident happened opposite Chelmsford Fire Station in Rainsford Lane at around 10.30pm.
Two fire engines from Chelmsford plus paramedics and police officers rushed to the scene.
Firefighters used cutting equipment to free a man trapped in a car by around 11.15pm and he was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Two patients were then taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, in a stable condition for further medical attention.
A structural engineer was called in to assess the house.
