AFTER the Bishop of Chelmsford tweeted his version of the Christmas story this week the Chronicle is challenging our readers to tweet their version too.
In only 140 characters we want you to tell the famous story that is at the heart of this festive period.
And whether you go down the traditional route or, like the Right Reverend Bishop Stephen Cottrell, decide on a more abstract message, the best tweet picked by the Chronicle will receive a £100 High Chelmer gift voucher.
The bishop tweeted: "Hold out your hands. One hand is you, the other God. Clasp them together fingers uniting. That's Christ. God & humanity joined as One #csdio."
If you think you can do better tweet @essex_chronicle with your attempt and use the #csdio.
Speaking about his decision to tweet the bishop said: "I would not claim that my short version of the Christmas story is brilliant.
"I am sure many Twitter users will do much better.
"If you are a Twitter user, take up my challenge and tweet the Christmas story in your own words."
The winner will be picked by Mick McDonagh, High Chelmer's centre manager, who has donated the £100 voucher.
Chronicle Editor Paul Dent-Jones said: "This competition is an excellent opportunity for our readers and Twitter followers to tell the Christmas story in an original and challenging way.
"Using only 140 characters is quite tricky but we're sure our readers will find creative and inventive ways to make their story fit into a tweet.
"The best one will win £100 worth of gift vouchers – just in time to buy those last minute Christmas presents."
To enter the Chronicle's Christmas story Twitter competition tweet @essex_chronicle with your 140 characters before December 13.
