BRENTWOOD travelled to Folkestone knowing a win would take them second in the table.
A nervous start from Brentwood saw them under pressure for the first 20 minutes. Goalkeeper Lorna Parsons made a couple of great one on one saves and a deflection off the line by defender Ruth Tilsley, kept the score level. Brentwood got back into the game but despite chances from both teams, the first half ended without a score.
Both teams came out fighting in the second half and it was Folkestone who broke the deadlock after being awarded a short corner. A left slip and well taken strike resulted in a 1-0 lead. Brentwood were determined to come back and Nikki Brimson drove straight for goal and saw her strike just miss, however more pressure from the forward line created chances for Brentwood and Haylee Adams stopped a rebound from the goalkeeper to then calmly place it in the back of the net.
With five minutes to go, it looked like the score would remain even, but Folkestone chance which was saved by Parsons, sadly went to a free player at the edge of the D whose quick strike went into the goal.
