Police in Billericay are trying to track down whoever has been delivering leaflets about 'judgement day' to residents.
Officers have been informed by several concerned people that they had the fliers delivered to them in early December.
The leaflets also asked people to meet in Billericay High Street.
The fliers, which were stuffed within Christmas cards, were hand delivered to a number of unrelated addresses in the Billericay area and contained a number of pictures relating to widely published theories, large companies and some text regarding judgement day.
Police officers are investigating the distribution of the leaflets and would like to speak to anybody who has received a leaflet or has information as to who produced them.
Investigating officer Sergeant Frazer Low,
at Billericay Police Station, said: "These leaflets have been a little
upsetting to some of the recipients and there are no contact details.
"We are monitoring the situation and appeal to anyone with any information to contact police officers at Billericay on 101."
