Chelmsford City chairman Mansell Wallace has confirmed manager Mark Hawkes will be in charge for the next two years.
Hawkes and his assistant Steve Smith secured the club's Conference South survival last week, and the club later confirmed they would be in charge next season.
However, Wallace has now revealed the former Heybridge Swifts pair have agreed a two-year deal to stay at Melbourne Park and try and build a promotion-winning team.
"We've told them that they will be there for the next two years," Wallace said. "You can't build a team in just one season, to build a team from scratch in one season is impossible really so we've given them two seasons.
"They've done everything they wanted to do, they are totally committed to the club and the team, which is what we want to see. And they're really nice guys."
Wallace admits the decision to appoint the pair, who were in charge two divisions lower in Ryman League Division One North, was a risk, but is delighted with how they have acquitted themselves.
"They've done really well," he added. "It could be seen as a bit of gamble, but we'd tried it from higher up it hadn't worked out, and from where we were we had nothing to lose, so we thought we'd bring in people that we knew had fire in their belly and had something to prove."
