Essex GP3 star Alex Lynn is hoping that Michael Schumacher is on the road to recovery after coming out of a coma.
The seven-time world champion has come out of the medically-induced coma he has been in since a skiing accident in December.
And Lynn, who is preparing for this weekend's GP3 event at the Red Bull Ring in Austria, hopes the prognosis is good for the German legend.
"I hope for the best for him," he said. "He's been my hero since I started watching Formula 1, I just hope he can make the best recovery possible.
"To see him out of hospital is great and I hope it's really good news. "
Lynn won his first race in Barcelona last month, and is now hoping for more success in Austria.
Lynn drives for the Carlin team in GP3, but is part of the Red Bull Racing team, so the race is particularly important for him.
"It's a big race," he said. "Certainly I think it adds more pressure but I think it'll be really cool and I really want to win for the Red Bull family, I think that would be something special."
