INSPECTORS from the Care Quality Commission have carried out a three day unannounced inspection at Basildon Hospital.
The inspection started on January 21 and the official report of the inspection will be delivered to the Trust in the coming weeks.
Clare Panniker, Chief Executive of Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Trust, said: "Although we did not know the exact date of the inspection the visit was expected following the passing of a dateline set by the CQC to improve standards following an earlier visit to our paediatric department in November."
